Falstaff is a musical drama in three acts by the Italian writer Giuseppe Verdi. The lyrics was adjusted by Arrigo Boito from Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor and scenes from Henry IV, parts 1 and 2. The work debuted on 9 February 1893 at La Scala, Milan. Falstaff was the remainder of Verdi's 28 musical shows, his second parody, and his third work in light of a Shakespeare play, taking after Macbeth and Otello. The plot rotates around the upset, now and then ridiculous, endeavors of the fat knight, Sir John Falstaff, to tempt two wedded ladies to access their spouses' riches.
